John Young, MD
Pediatrician
Dr. Young married Dana Bottlinger of Dallas Texas in 1988. Together they have four daughters, Caitlyn (1989), Christian Brown (1992) – married to Steven Brown, Callan (1994), and Camryn (2000). Dr. Young and Dana also have four grandchildren, Hunter Gates (2007), Parker Gates (2010), Chandler Gates (2014), and Jennings Brown (2018). The family has also recently expanded to include George Lay Otieno of Kisumu, Kenya. Dr. Young and his family are proud to announce the upcoming nuptials between their daughter Callan and their soon to be son-in-law Randy Volkmer; to be wed on April 18th, 2020.
Dr. Young truly enjoys taking care of children in Amarillo, TX. During his time off, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching his children in sports. He is an avid Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Rangers fan, and has enjoyed singing baritone in a gospel quartet, the Upword Quartet, for the past 12 years. He also enjoys reading investment books and internet sites and learning more about wind and solar energy. He has been a ham radio enthusiast since the age of 12 and has held an Extra license, the highest certification for over 25 years. Dr. Young and his family are members of The Church at Bushland, and Dr. Young is an elder at the church.
John M. Young, MD is a private practice pediatrician in Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Young was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas where he graduated from S.H. Rider High School in 1982. He remained in Wichita Falls for his undergraduate education at Midwestern State University where he was named the Hardin Scholar for 1983-1984; this is the highest award for academic excellence given to the student whose scholastic achievements and participation in University activities during the preceding year brought distinction to the student and Midwestern State University. He received a degree in Chemistry in 1985 and a double major degree in Biology and Psychology in 1986. He was the highest-ranking graduate in both 1985 and 1986 with a perfect 4.0-grade point average.
After completing his undergraduate work, Dr. Young entered medical school in Dallas at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed medical school in 1990, graduating 4th in his class of 204, and was nominated to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical school honor society. Dr. Young remained in Dallas at Children’s Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital for his internship and residency in Pediatrics.
After the completion of his residency in 1993, Dr. Young briefly worked in Abilene with a private practice before moving to Amarillo in January of 1994 where he began his career in private practice that continues today. Dr. Young has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1993 and was originally board certified in 1993 at the completion of his residency.
Dr. Young has served as the Chief of Pediatrics at BSA Hospital where he supervised the establishment of the BSA Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. He has also served on the Child Welfare Board of Amarillo.
Dr. Young has been a supporter of the Hope Choice Pregnancy Center of Amarillo since 1993. He also works closely with the Christian Relief Fund through which he sponsors George in his law studies in Kenya.

Kim Anglin, RN, BSN, MSN, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Kim Anglin has always enjoyed helping people of all ages but has a special place in her heart for pediatrics. She enjoys getting to know not only her patients but the families as well. She has a particular fondness for teaching the parents and answering all the previous questions that go along with the pediatric population.
Kim was born and raised right here in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1990. She has 4 beautiful and strong-willed children; Sarah, Alissa, Natalie, and Max. Kim and her family attend The Church at Quail Creek, the church she grew up in.
Kim Anglin is a Family Nurse Practitioner in Amarillo, Texas. She completed her Associate’s of Science in Nursing degree from Amarillo College in 1995 and her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from West Texas A&M University in 1997. As an undergraduate, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a national nursing honors society. She then returned to school to complete her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from West Texas A&M University, carrying a 3.75 overall grade point average. She graduated with her MSN in 2000. She is board certified by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center to practice as a family nurse practitioner in the state of Texas. She is also an active member and a previous board member of the local Panhandle Nurse Practitioner Association.
Kim worked as a charge nurse on the skilled nursing and rehabilitation units at both the Northwest Texas healthcare Center and BSA hospital. After graduating with her MSN, she worked at Northwest Women’s and Children’s Healthcare Center for over five years specializing in pediatrics. In 2008, she joined Dr. John Young’s thriving pediatric practice.
Glenda Clark (“Gi-Gi”)
Administrator
Glenda Clark, also known as “Gi-Gi” to many of our patients here at the office, is Dr. Young’s Administrator. he has been working in the world of Pediatrics since May of 1998. Glenda was raised here in Amarillo, TX and is a graduate from Palo Duro High School. She has been married to her husband, David Clark for 39 years. Glenda and David have two children, Tiffany (38) married to Desiree Dohoney and Justin Clark (36) married to Chantelle. Gi-Gi has one granddaughter Emily Dohoney (15months) and six step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren but claims to have nearly 7,000 altogether. Her love for children radiates throughout the office and she truly shines when she is holding “her babies.”
