Conditions: Allergic rhinitis; allergic asthma; allergic conjunctivitis2 Symptoms: Itchy, stuffy, or runny nose; post-nasal drip; sneezing; itchy, red or watery eyes; asthmatic symptoms.

Physical description: Almost all species are deciduous; can grow up to 100 feet tall; grows quickly and has a shorter life span than many trees; most species have palmate leaves that grow up to 4 inches long and take on vibrant colors during fall

Environmental factors: Thrives in sunlight and mixed soil; grows paired fruits with winged seeds, known as samara; wind-pollinated

Cross-reactivity: Chestnut, maple

Included species: Acer negundo, acer palmatum, acer griseum
